The martial arts have been used to promote physical fitness for centuries, helping people obtain the strength and focus needed to handle anything that can occur. At White’s ATA Martial Arts in Havelock, NC, we offer five major programs designed to help our students grow physically and mentally through the application of martial arts and life skill training.
Start your child on the path to self-confidence, discipline and concentration. The ATA Tigers program, designed for pre-school children ages 3 through 6, teaches self-discipline and socialization skills. Students are given a fun and engaging environment in which to learn and develop in a class-based setting with other kids their age. Your child will learn goal-setting and achievement as they work their way up through the Tiger ranks.
Karate for Kids
Respect, dedication, determination, and confidence – all are qualities that can help your child excel in the classroom and at home. At White’s ATA Martial Arts, the Karate for Kids program is customized to build on the way kids learn and develop. This program encourages achievement, growth and success by offering awards for outstanding performance in taekwondo class, school and home. The martial arts skills learned are also a great way to boost confidence and enhance physical strength and fitness.

It’s never too late to learn something new. Whether you are 18 or 80, in excellent physical condition, looking to lose weight and get back in shape or interested in how to defend yourself in today’s world, White’s ATA Martial Arts offers a variety of options for adult men and women. Tai Chi is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. To do Tai Chi, you perform a series of postures of movements in a slow, graceful manner. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion.
Tai Chi can help reduce stress. During Tai Chi, you focus on movement and breathing. This combination creates a state of relaxation and calm. Stress, anxiety, and tension should melt away as you focus on the present, and the effects may last well after you stop your Tai Chi session.
The Cardio Kickboxing program offered at White’s Martial Arts implemented by Steve White is designed to improve your overall self image. Our unique program combines strength and cardio exercises that have roots based in Martial Arts. See your physical fitness and endurance levels increase as you train on punching bags and with resistance bands. Working within a group setting always helps motivate and excite the desire to train consistently and also gives you more energy and motivation. Our Cardio Kickboxing program is designed under the guidance of Steve White, and implemented by the world class group of instructors we have assembled.
